Prof Berke is an Associate Professor at ULB since 2017. He obtained his MSc degree from the Budapest University of Technology and Economics (BUTE) in Mechanical Engineering in 2003 and the PhD title from the Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB) in Engineering Sciences in 2008. The main orientation of my research activities is the computational modelling of complex phenomena and the development of advanced purpose-built numerical tools in three main research axes: (i) the behaviour of complex structures, (ii) the nonlinear behaviour of complex and multi-phase materials, and (iii) the development and use of multi-scale numerical techniques which allow the investigation of the interaction of material and structural behaviours.
He is also a visiting Professor at the Universidade Federal do Ceará and visiting lecturer at the Universidade Federal de Ouro Preto. He has authored more than 50 papers and directed more than a dozen PhDs.
